APPLICATION
PROCEDURES
The Planning and Zoning office handles applications
covering a variety of activities, including subdivision
of land, construction of buildings, site development,
change of use, signage, and regulation amendments.
The first step in the application process is to submit a
completed application form,
a fee, a site plan, and architectural plans to the
Planning and Zoning office.
Some types of applications, such as single family
residential construction in a residential zone, are
routed directly to the Zoning Enforcement Officer for
processing.
Others, such as applications for commercial and
multi-family development, are reviewed and voted on by
the Planning and Zoning Commission at their regular
twice-monthly meetings.
Procedures for subdivision applications are described in
the Branford Subdivision Regulations, Section 2,
“Application Requirements and Procedure.”
Procedures for the various types of zoning applications
are described in the
Branford Zoning Regulations,
Section 9, “Procedures,” and the checklists in the
Appendices.
