A printed schedule of activities & special events is available at the Center, Town Hall, Libraries, Canoe Brook Buses and Senior Housing locations. Branford residents age 60+ are eligible to participate. (Participants must be independent and oriented.)

Dues are $ 8 per year. Guests and non-residents are welcome to accompany a participant to an activity or on a trip as space permits. Stop by the Front Office today and sign up, we look forward to meeting you!

Transportation Services:  All participants must schedule a safety evaluation prior to utilizing any of our transportation services. There is no charge to use our transportation services, however donations are accepted.

Bus Transportation: Available daily to Canoe Brook for lunch, activities, and trips. Call the Transportation Office at 203-315-0681 a day in advance to reserve a ride.  For weekend, evening, or wheelchair transportation please call Greater New Haven Transit District at 288-6282 or click here for more info on the MyRide transportation services.

Medical Appointments: Available for Branford residents to appointments in Branford, Guilford, New Haven, and the VA. Appointment times must be between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The last return ride is 2:30 pm and all cars are off the road by 3:00 p.m. All riders are advised to have an alternate means of transportation in the event they are not ready for a return ride by 2:30 pm. A five day advance notice of appointments is advised; at times we are filled to capacity so the sooner you reserve your ride the more likely it is we can accommodate your request. For the safety of all, transportation services may be cancelled due to inclement weather; passengers have the option to reschedule their appointment or utilize their back-up source of transportation.

Tuesday, 8:45 a.m. Stop and Shop for Stony Creek and central Branford.
Tuesday,11:15 a.m. Big Y for Branford, Short Beach & Branford Hills.
Thursday, 9:00 a.m. Mini-trips to local stores; call for a schedule.
Friday, 9:00 a.m. Stop and Shop for Stony Creek and central Branford.
Friday, 11:15 a.m. Big Y for Branford, Short Beach & Branford Hills. 

Social Services:

Assistance with Energy Assistance, Operation Fuel, Renter's Rebate, Housing, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Insurances, SNAP , and consumer protection issues is available. Senior Cafe: Lunch is served at 11:45 a.m. Monday-Friday for a suggested donation of $ 3.00 (donation is requested at time of reservation.) Transportation is available. Menus are posted at the Center and online. To make a reservation call 315-0685 no later than 12:30 pm the day before you would like to come.  Cafe hours are Monday - Friday 10 am -1:00 pm. Lunch is served at 11:45 a.m. M-F.

Meals on Wheels:

Managed by the Area Agency on Aging, home delivered meals are available to homebound seniors. To apply for home delivered meals  call the Meals on Wheels program directly at 203-752-9919. For information on other meal options please call Assistant Director Marlowe Ioime at 203-315-0682.
