     The Branford Counseling Center is a licensed psychiatric outpatient and substance abuse facility for adults and children. The Branford Counseling Center is the Youth Service Bureau for the Town of Branford. The Center is a Medicare and Medicaid provider and most commercial health plans are accepted. Our exceptional staff of qualified personnel will help all patient's and no resident will ever be refused treatment because of an inability to pay.

     Branford Counseling Center is a municipal mental health agency licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. It is an approved Substance Abuse Facility and The Youth Service Bureau for the Town of Branford. Services are provided by Master's level clinicians and by psychiatrists. It is the mission of the Branford Counseling Center to maximize treatment through collaboration with other local agencies, schools, hospitals, private practitioners. harbor Health Services Inc. and various town departments.

Substance Abuse Services

• Counseling for: individuals, couples, families and groups.

• Parent education and support groups.

• Play therapy for young children

• Full continuum of individual and group counseling.
• Random toxicology.
• Court mandated referrals.

• Evaluation, consultation and prescriptions of medication by child and adult psychiatrists.

• Follow-up care for those discharged from psychiatric and substance abuse facilities.

• A wide variety of groups for children and adults including those for anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit Disorder and severe and persistent mental illness.

• Drug and Alcohol Prevention Programs.

• Participation on Student Assistance Teams in all Branford public schools.

• Stress Management and Self-Esteem Workshops in grades 3-5

• Member of Shoreline Collaborative of Youth.
