In an effort to continue to serve the Town of Branford’s residents and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, Engineering permit applications will temporarily be accepted via email or mail until further notice.  Please find the list of permit applications available on the Engineering Department’s webpage at .  Applications, forms and other supporting documentation will also be provided within the vestibule of town hall for those without computer access.  We encourage you to call our offices prior to visiting Town Hall - in order to reduce staff exposure - so that we may remain open.

Permits will require review by the Engineering Department prior to being issued and may take 2-3 days to process; Floodplain Development Permits will be issued with the Building Permit.  Completed applications can be emailed with supporting documents to ,mailed to Town Hall, or dropped off in the Town Hall vestibule.

Septic pumpout permits: please contact the Engineering Department at 203-315-0606 or via email to determine if you are eligible for a permit.

Payments: We will accept checks or credit cards at this time for permit fees.  Payment will be accepted by credit card through the Building Department (Please note: A convenience fee will apply): Click here for our credit card payment portal.

Excavation Bonds:  Excavation bonds must be paid by check and reference the address where the excavation will occur.

In order for this process to be successful, we ask you to provide all of the information required of that particular permit application.  Incomplete applications may be delayed or rejected.
