In May, the waste collection crews will be issuing stickers on trash containers that are oversized.
If your trash can has an “oversized” sticker placed on it you will need to get a new container within one week that meets the Town of Branford’s requirements. Trash cans should be 50 gallons or less in size, weigh no more than 50 lbs. when filled, & lids should not have hinges. These oversized/overweight containers are very heavy and unsafe for the workers to lift.
If you have been using an oversized container for curbside trash collection please make arrangements to replace it before your next collection day to avoid any interruptions in your weekly curbside collection and trash left behind. If you have any questions please call 203-315-0622
For anyone whose trash was not collected on Tuesday 5/4/2021 due to exceeding the oversized limit, please leave your trash to the curb and it will be picked up by Friday 5/7/2021
