Summary of Job:
The purposes of this position are to assist in the development of all fundraising activities and planning with the Director of the Animal Shelter to increase revenue for the Animal Shelter through the administrative functions of the department. This position is also responsible for business operations of the department such as scheduling staff, managing time sheets, purchase orders, inventory control, departmental accounting practices and procedures and other coordination programs as assigned. The Animal Shelter Program Administrator is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control.

• Assists in the development, planning and fundraising events for the Animal Shelter
• Assists in the business operations for the Animal Shelter, this may include all HR and accounting administrative functions including purchase orders, accounts receivable, accounts payable, funds received from donors, staff timesheet operations, scheduling staff and adherence to other HR practices and procedures to ensure the effective operations of the department.
• Lead all community based educational programs, by going on site to make presentations at the site and delivering educational programs to specific populations
• Develops and maintains an ongoing list of current and past donors which may include pets who have passed away, monetary donations made on behalf of the others,
• Promote adoption of animals; handle adoption applications and assisting in the meeting of the potential adopted animals with the new owners.
• Serves as an outreach leader to the community to provide relevant information for inquires made about the centers services and activities.
• Develops educational materials to use in all outreach programs as needed for the particular population served.
• Supervises, trains, volunteers and assures safe working conditions.
• Comply with OSHA regulations.
• Maintain all necessary records and information regarding use of the animal shelter and provides appropriate statistics as needed.
• Assists in fundraising activities and events which may require working during the evening or weekend hours.
• Educate the public about the care of animals and habits/risks of wildlife.

This position requires a successful coordinator who handles all general organization of administrative operations including the administration of bill payments, invoice management, monitoring of applications for new animal owner adoptions, communicating the services offered by the Animal Shelter to the community and handling all administrative operations required of micro soft computer usage.
